So, Ultra Violet Purple is 2018's Pantone colour of the year. And you need to produce a page featuring this week's/month's/year's seasonal favourite. Your editor wants it to showcase seven great high-resolution pictures, from a range of high-street and online brands, and it must also include a smattering of ‘new ’ brands. Oh, and you have half an hour to do it!
Don't worry - follow the simple steps below and you'll be able to create a themed page or spread featuring your chosen colour.
Step One
Go to PRShots.com and login to your free account – or register here if you’ve never used the site. It only takes three minutes, and it’s completely free.
Step Two – Cut-outs, campaign images, portrait or landscape or both
You’re probably only going to need cut-outs for a page like this, but if you want to turn this into a spread with a full page then leave this open - you can always clear it later.

Choose Model/Campaign shots or choose cut-outs
If you’re looking for opening images for the left-hand page of the spread, then you’ll probably just want portrait shots, so select that now.
Step Three - Match your colour
Colour matching takes a few seconds. The easiest way is to get your colour on screen next to the PRShots colour picker. Put your cursor over the round colour wheel in the place where the colour best matches the colour in the image you want, then just click.
The colour you’ve chosen will then appear in the box next to The Clear Colour.

Simply click the colour wheel until you have a good match. We matched the coral colour of the dress.
As you move around the colour wheel, you’ll notice the images in the list to the right will start to change as it searches for items that are that colour, or feature a large amount of that colour.

If the colour isn’t bright enough, use the slider to make it darker.
Step Four – Narrow down your category
If there are too many choices to look at, add more filters. If you have a price range, say £10-100 then select a price range to search, e.g. everything between £10-100.

If you’re just searching for dresses, then put that in the search box. If you want everything to be included, e.g. green sofas, green candles, green toys etc, head straight to step 3.
Step Five – Save and choose your images
As you’re trawling through the images, pin the images you think might be OK as you go along. Then when you’ve worked your way through the list, review all the pinned images in one go and delete the ones that don’t match, so you’re just left with the images you need for the feature.

Remember, colour can be very subjective - one person’s black and blue dress is another person’s white and gold dress! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress.

Step Six – Send off your finished copy
When you’re happy with your images, download them all with a click of a button.
To make it look like you’re a true genius download the images, rename a few so it looks like you didn’t download everything from PRShots, dump them in a shared folder and write a short email telling the editor you’ve DONE IT!!! Then hit return and announce your genius to your team!
